Thank you for sharing about your struggles with depression, Tyler. It’s encouraging, as I struggle greatly with depression as well. I needed to hear the reminder that I’m not alone and the truth you reiterated via scripture. (And, yes, I have similar thoughts about scripture. It registers intellectually but not emotionally.)

I really enjoyed this episode Tyler. I suffer from depression myself (I also hate the term “suffer from depression” but I don’t know how else to say it) and I can relate to almost every feeling you expressed. One verse that you mentioned that means a lot to me is Zephaniah 3:17. The part that speaks to me is the bit about God rejoicing over me with singing. It makes me think about my kids and how I like to just make up songs about them to love on them and to lovingly embarrass them and to hopefully convey to them that they’re safe with me.

Another thing that helps is having people in my life, like you, multiple podcast award nominee Tyler Smith, who are open and honest about their struggles. So sincerely, thank you for your vulnerability.
