I hope you do that double date episode because this was such a joy to listen to. 10 years of marriage has given you guys great chemistry, and hearing Jen talk adds a whole other dimension to the known Smith. One of the greatest episodes in the whole fleet, thanks for doing it.

So I’ve been listening to both your shows for years, and I’m sure I’ve told you this before, but I see a lot of similarities between you and me (and I mean weirdly specific things). Which has led me to wonder, “Who is this mysterious woman he’s married to, and is she anything like my wife?” And son of a gun, she kinda is. Having been married for nine years myself (my anniversary is actually your birthday…go figure), it’s good to hear some honest talk from a similar perspective, since as you noted, this far into a marriage most Christian couples have children and therefore a completely different outlook. I might have my wife listen to this. I think she would find it interesting.

Finally caught up with this. What a wonderful episode. Thank you both for the helpful comments. You two are adorable, both in your support and in your little disagreements. (Personal favorite moment is when you’re discussing your perfect survivor night, and have the exchange: “Papa Johns!” / “Or whatever…”.)

Btw, if Jen is interested in another cab movie, there’s Hellcab aka Chicago Cab, set of course in the city where you guys took that ride. It’s just a little stiff, coming from a play (though not stagey thanks to excellent location shooting), but the supporting performances of the fares can’t be beat: Michael Shannon, Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Gillian Anderson, on and on.

Congrats on 10 years! Mrs. Smith did a great job, she really classed up the joint. My wife and I are going on 13 years now, and this episode reminded me of the bible study class we were in at church for newlyweds and engaged couples back in the day. We had a class on “Outlaws”(in reference to in-laws), where we were told to look at one another and say “You are my family”. It all really drove home that once married, we are one another’s primary family, and all else needs to be seen it light of that fact. I think of the term Outlaws from time to time, and y’all reminded me of it!

    Good show, thanks!
