I wish I could tell you how much this episode applies to my life right now. First I think I will not be watching Eat, Pray, Love because from the sound of it my television or computer would suffer injury for it. (I tend to throw things when movies frustrate me). Without going into too much detail my husband and I have been struggling through conflict with a family member who has consistently been disrespectful, manipulative, hurtful, and has gone through some considerable lengths to cause conflict in our marriage. This person has been abusive in a really, really bad way that affected me directly. As Christians of course we are called to forgive and we have. However when confronted this individual is literally incapable of distinguishing the difference between how we feel about the actions and versus the person. In short this person has decided we hate them because we object to their behavior and will not tolerate it. At times we have questioned our own motives? Are we imposing our views on them unfairly? We are sensitive to the fact that we do not share the same world view or values as this person. But be that as it may there are standards and there is truth. The thoughts you both expressed on this episode be insanely applicable to our situation, even if I’ve been totally turned off the movie.

That sounds like a very hard situation, and I’m sorry that you’re going through it. But I’m glad that our episode was able to help in some way. Thanks for sharing.
