For another film on traditional Christianity (specifically, Catholicism) vs a cult and what their followers get out of them, I highly recommend Dan Sallitt’s “All the Ships at Sea”. His recent “Fourteen” has gotten a lot of positive attention, but I prefer the classical unities of the former to the latter’s Pialat-esque hopping across time.

The film was made around the time that scandals in the Church were coming to light, which means that the representative of Catholicism is on shakier ground indicting cults for their tendency toward abuse of power.
