Guys, I loved this episode. I’ve always adored Charlie Brown Christmas and have often bench-marked it as a standard for how you can produce a quality product without compromising the integrity of your art or the integrity of your core message. I haven’t yet seen Saving Christmas, but the critiques you voiced confirmed many of my initial suspicions. Perhaps a day is on the horizon when the terms “Christian” and “Artists” can exist together free from the stigmas of how they are expected to work together.

I don’t remember if I mentioned this in the episode, but Charles Schulz actually fought the network really hard to keep the Biblical passage in the special. It makes sense, as it is the climax, but it still fascinates me that Schulz, who wasn’t necessarily a Christian, would fight that hard for an overt Christian message.
